First Grade is the Place to “BEE!”

We have 17 students in our classroom, 12 boys and 5 girls. It is going to be an Un”BEE”lievable year!

 Our Schedule:

 Tardy Bell:7:45  Special Area: 9:05-9:55 Lunch 10:00-10:20 Recess: 12:55- 1:10 Dismissal:2:30

Our days will be busy. Please make sure your child arrives before the tardy bell and leaving early does not occur often. I know you don’t want them to miss out on anything!!

Homework & Thursday Folders:

*  Homework for the entire week will be given on Mondays. Your child will bring it home in a homework folder with a behavior contract. All of the homework is due by Friday and will be checked that morning. If it is a short week, it will be checked on the last school day of that week. If your child chooses to do it all before then, that is fine too. However, please check the folder each day for notes that may need your attention and to check on behavior.

*Thursday progress folders will go home every other Thursday. Please look over your child’s work, sign the folder and return it the next day. You may keep the papers, unless I note for you to return them.

*If you ever have any transportation changes, you must write a note.

*Make sure your child wears sneakers on the days we have P.E. I will write it on our homework contract.

 Treats, Holiday Parties and Birthdays:

*If you would like to celebrate your child’s birthday in class, please let me know a few days in advance so adjustments can be made to our daily schedule. Our days will be busy and the best time to celebrate will be 2:00.

** Treats are always welcome, especially on Fridays!

 * There will be some holiday parties that I will ask you to send in something. I will let you know by sending a note with the item listed and the time and date of the party.

 Field Trips:

First Grade will be going on field trips. Anyone that is interested in attending a field trip with your child will need to fill out and return a volunteer form. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. This is a district policy.
