Bio

My name is Amy Ivey. I am a Speech-Language Pathologist at Andrews Elementary. I have been a part of the AES faculty since 2001 and love working with students in order to improve their communication skills! I received an undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Winthrop University and a Masters of Speech Pathology from the University of South Carolina. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) as recognized by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). I am also licensed through SC LLR to practice as a speech-language pathologist and hold a BabyNet Part C credential.  I am a member of ASHA's special interest division "Language, Learning, and Education" as well as a member of the SC Speech-Language and Hearing Association.  In addition, I also serve as a clinical supervisor for graduate students attending the University of South Carolina's Speech Pathology program.

I serve students that have been identified as having a speech or language impairment which interferes with their learning. I provide services to students according to their IEP (Individualized Education Program). In addition to conducting speech/language screenings and evaluations as recommended by our school-based Student Intervention Team, I also collaborate with teachers in order to develop effective classroom-based articulation and language strategies/interventions. My primary office is at Andrews Elementary, but I also serve students at Rosemary Middle School and Andrews High School. If you have any questions/concerns regarding your child's speech and language skills, please don't hesitate to give me a call!
